Hydroaid engages public institutions and local associations in developing educational activities for primary and secondary schools in the region of Piedmont. The main goal is to position schools as central hubs for recreational, educational, and training activities focused on key topics such as water resource management and environmental protection, with a particular emphasis on climate change and its impact on water resources.
The program offers a wide range of activities, including workshops, visits, and hands-on learning experiences, all designed to promote sustainability and environmental citizenship in alignment with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. To date, it has involved 2900 students, 60 schools, and 128 classes across 20 municipalities, with the number of participants continuing to grow as more activities and events are planned for the future.
A variety of educational tools are used, such as lectures, workshops, field visits, experiential learning, social media campaigns, and multimedia production. These tools work together to achieve the program’s educational objectives. Hydroaid’s environmental education initiatives are carried out in collaboration with local organizations, universities, and institutions committed to the cause, including the MaCA Museum, A come Ambiente, Legambiente Metropolitano, CinemAmbiente, and the Museum of Savings. The program is mainly supported and funded by the Area Authority No. 3 "Torinese" and SMAT.
