Cooperação Brasil-Itália
International technical cooperation Italy-Brasil
In February 2005 Hydroaid signed an inter-institutional cooperation agreement with the Ministério das Cidades of the Brazilian Federal Government, with which a technical training program was launched on environmental issues, land use and water resources management, in addition to technical support to local and national public administrations in Brazil for the definition of guidelines relating to the management of environmental risk, the mitigation of natural disasters and the sustainable management of natural resources. Since 2007, water and sanitation activities have been added to the planning, recycling and integrated urban management of water and waste.
General objective
The main objective of the program is to contribute to strengthening the Brazilian Environmental Saneamento sector with a highly qualified technical framework capable of drawing up plans and managing the water and waste cycle through an integrated approach. The programme combines training and capacity development activities with the aim of providing the knowledge, skills and tools to adequately address the problems related to the use of public resources and the ability to plan investments and interventions in the sector.
